Connection is the nuclear core of social media. But you must make an effort in order for that to happen.

Whether you have a social media home business, traditional brick and mortar business, or an online business, you must get into the social trenches and connect and converse. It is that simple and that plain.

It is all about connecting and creating a magnetic conversation with people that draws them towards you.

But why are people in social media not doing that?

Maybe they do not know this powerful 5 step “Avalanche Process” for getting new customers and keeping them in social media.

The first thing you must do is connect with the social media culture. It is what marketing is about in social media. Some people think that they can be anti-social in social media and think they can broadcast their message and people will still come.

That simply is not going to happen. Not in social media. You do not build ‘it’ but instead, build relationships that can become doorways and then eventually become customers.

Here is the “Avalanche Path” you can follow:

1. Connect –> 2. Conversation –> 3. Value –> 4. Doorway –> 5. Customer.

Let’s take a quick look at each step:

1. Connect

Connection with people is where success in social media starts. Connect with people on Twitter, on Facebook, on LinkedIn, on Youtube, on Orkut, or every other niche site out in the social sphere that matters. You must connect.

Here’s a little tip:
Connect to those who are looking for you. They will find you if you are visible, and accessible to connect to.

2. Conversation

This step is where the conversation with people starts. You talk about the prospect and where they want to go. You talk about what they want to talk about. You study their profile, pictures and videos on their social sites because you can learn a lot just by paying attention.

Then make sure that you stay in touch and listen when they are communicating with you. If you do that, they will want to stay connected to you.

3. Value

This step is where you bring in the magnet to pull them towards your message. Show them value they can obtain with your message in their life. Show them how your message can help expand, increase, enlarge and improve their life. You do it through tips and how to’s in videos and blog posts and podcasts, as well as tweets and twips. Show them how you can make their life easier and show them how to do something they want to learn. You show them how to be or do something. If you can increase the size of their dreams, you can get them as a customer.
The more value people perceive you have for them the more likely they will walk through the “Doorway.”

4. Doorway

This is the doorway to conversion where you convert them to a customer. You must convert prospects into customers if you are going to have any kind of business. That is simple to do.

Give them an offer where “No” is impossible to say. That is the secret. Give first and then make the offer so compelling they cannot say “No.” We do it all the time. We just ran a social media special on our training products and it blew the roof off our shipping department. It has created a flood of new customers and new orders for us. All we did was give them an offer that was difficult to turn down.
The secret of success we experienced can be found in the word “Give.”
Give away something they must have, and something that will improve their life, and they will get it.

5. Customer

This final step is where they purchase your message, products, or webinar or event. This is the beginning of your relationship though – not the end.

Here you must start building the relationship between you and the customer even more.

Give more than they expected and throw something in for free they were not expecting. Give them a free download or ebook and let them see a Private video collection as a special.

Encourage more. Make sure that you send a note of encouragement and stay in touch with them.

Thank them more. Make sure they know you are thankful for their business and connection. We send out free downloads all the time to say thanks that some people paid $$$ for in the past. Thank them in everything you do and they will come back for more.

Get your customers addicted to your Value, Message and Emotions. They will become more than a customer. They will become a loud speaker for you and tell everyone you know you are the best at what you do.

That is what you want to happen in your home business or traditional business in social media marketing.

Before, I want to have my own restaurant. However, I don’t have the resources to pursue  that dream but thanks to Restaurant City, I can at least pretend that I can.  Restaurant City is a new game on facebook developed by Playfish.

I’ve been playing Restaurant City for a week now and I’m loving it.

So now, let me share some few tips and pointers for Restaurant City.

How do you get ingredients?

• Daily Freebie
  This is automatic and will greet you as soon as you log on each day.
• Daily Quiz
  Each day, you receive a quiz question in your inbox. If you answer the food quiz correctly, you get a free ingredient.
• Visiting a Friend’s restaurant for the first time (Get clicking!)

How can I gain GP (Gourmet points) faster?
Simple. Keep your browser on! Just leave your restaurant city on, even if you’re not playing. This way, you’ll be sure to gain those extra points which you cannot get while you’re offline. This is also useful if you want to gain level faster.

Keep your employees happy!
Feed them or let them rest. If only they have natural appetite suppressant, so it can suppress their appetite, burn fat and increase their energy output.   Remember: Higher happiness = More productivity.

Ways to gain more coins
Get quick coins by picking up trash and shaking trees.   While you’re in restaurant view, scroll around your lot. Click all the trees you see because they sometimes drop coins. You aren’t guaranteed a coin every time you do it but it is still an easy way to gain some coins.

Focus on one recipe
Restrain yourself from leveling up lots of recipes art once.  Your restaurant can only serve one dish from each category (appetizer, main course & dessert) at a time.   So, choose one recipe, click to make sure it’s the recipe being served, and level that up.  The higher the level, the more reputation you gain per customer. Make use of the trading feature in Restaurant city!

Level 1 = +1.0
Level 2 = +1.2
Level 3 = +1.4
Level 4 = +1.6
Level 5 = +1.8
Level 6 = +2.0
Level 7 = +2.2
Level 8 = +2.4
Level 9 = +2.6

Make your layout more efficient
As much as possible, avoid too much space between the waiters and the tables.   Fix your table layout so that your waiter doesn’t have to walk far to serve your tables.

For the table ratio, I go for 3:1.  It means 3 tables per 1 cook.  Then  1-2 waiters per 3 cooks.

Prioritize more cooks over waiters.

Play in lower quality
There’s a button on the top left corner of the game which allows you to adjust the game quality. Changing your quality to low makes the game run much faster, hence each customer visit goes faster = more cash.

Create waiting chairs
Waiting chair is a feature which allows you to increase the time in which a customer waits before leaving. This is useful as every customer who leaves disgruntled results in a decrease of your restaurant’s reputation. To make waiting chairs, read the following tips for higher success rate.

• Don’t place the waiting chairs next to the door
• Don’t place too many chairs.
• Place one or two arcade machines to keep your customers entertained for a bit longer.

Make a maze
If your waiters are struggling to clear the dishes in time for new customers then make a maze. This increases the time the customer takes to reach the table and the table should have already been cleared by the time the customer reaches it.

Close your Restaurant
If you can’t login for a long time, you may close your restaurant by blocking the door with something like a chair, table or your mailbox. Or you can just remove the door itself.

Warning: Restaurant City is very addicting. LOL …

Don’t share your API key, it’s like a password. nah api keynya sudah dapatkan… sekarang balik lagi ke wp-admin blog kita, bis itu liat di bagian plugins trus pilih menu Akismet configuration, lalu masukan deh WordPress.com API keynya… lalu klik update options… walla… selesai sudah…. Spam….

Untuk menuju ke Curug Cilember bisa melalui 2 jalur yaitu..

1. Melalui pangkalan ojek Cilember, tapi kalo kita melalui jalur sini jarak tempuhnya lebih jauh.
2. Melalui pangkalan ojek Hankam, lewat jalur sini lebih pendek jarak tempuhnya.

Banyak yang belum mengetahui keberadaan dan keindahan dari Curug Cilember ini. Padahal Curug Cilember mempunyai daya tarik tersendiri, dengan kesejukan alamnya yang terasa segar dan alami. Begitu mendekati area wana wisata Curug Cilember, kita sudah bisa merasakan nuansa kesejukan dan kesegaran, diiringi gemericik air laksana musik nan merdu *lebay gak c*, ditambah pula dengan panorama alam yang begitu indah…

Disini terdapat pula Laboratorium penangkaran kupu-kupu yang akan melengkapi pengetahuan kita tentang satwa kupu-kupu dari berbagai jenis. Selain itu disana menyediakan Camping Ground, untuk kita yang ingin beristirahat sebelum melanjutkan perjalanan ke obyek utama Curug Cilember.

Beruntung setelah sekian tahun lamanya saya bisa kembali melihat Curug Cilember (itu juga nganterin temen2 kantor yang pengen jalan2 dipuncak) padahal letak Curug Cilember gak jauh2 amat dari rumahku, nah pada hari jumat tanggal 26 desember kita bertiga berkelana menyusuri object wisata di daerah puncak, dari baso setan sampe perkebunan teh gunung mas dan terakhir sorenya kita ke Curug Cilember.

Gak banyak yang berubah sih dari terakhir kali saya berkunjung kesana… mmmm kurang lebih 4 tahun yang lalu deh… yang baru saya liat kemaren itu tempat Loket tiketnya baru euy…. lebih rapih lah…

trus… dulu warung makanan yang permanent cuman ada beberapa, tapi sekarang udah nambah banyak euy… sampe udah ada warung untuk jualan souvenir segala… dah mulai kek cibodas euy…

Hampir lupa harga Tiket masuknya sekarang naik euy 7.5k perasaan dulu murah deh… setelah sampe rumah kepikiran untuk liat tiketnya… eh tertulis Tarif khusus Liburan Idul Fitri, Natal n Tahun Baru….

Nah kemaren sore saya sempet salah jalan euy… maksud tujuan mau ke curug 7 nya eh malah jalan terus keatas, kearah curug atasnya hehehe pengen sih terusin sampe atasnya tapi apa daya kita sampe lokasi dah jam 5 sore… kalo kita terusin keatas ntar sesi narsis deket curugnya gak kebagian cahaya deh… tapi akhirnya kita sampe juga ke curugnya yak sempet muter2 dilokasi dari camping groundnya sampe penangkaran kupu2nya….

Och iyah pas kita kemaren kesana ada 2 pasangan yang sedang melakukan sesi pemotretan buat prewedd mereka… (sempet nanya brapa bayar tempat kalo mau prewed disini, dijwb ama photograpernya *waduh saya gak tau mas, yang bayar bapak itu tuh…* wedew….)

Okay apa yang bisa kita dapat di Curug Cilember ?

• Bisa sewa tenda doom beserta perlengkapan camping lainnya
• Ada Flying Fox (yah nurut aq sih terlalu pendek jaraknya)
• Bisa sewa aula beserta perlengkapanya
• Bisa sewa pondokan
• Bisa sewa listrik kalo emank mau pake listrik
• Bisa sewa Genset
• Dll… masih banyak lagih….
• sebenernya saya minta sih fasilitas dari yang jaga curugnya, tapi lupa euy browsurnya di rumah hehehe…

Kesimpulan:

Tempatnya bener2 masih sejuk kok…. cuman yak itu kalo mau cari curug yang kiri kanannya masih terliat alami seperti ditengah hutan, rasanya curug cilember bukan tempatnya deh… disamping jalan setapaknya udah pake beton bercampur batu kali diawal pintu masuk, tapi setelah di depan curugnya langsung jalannya masih tanah, tapi tetep curug cilember bisa kita gunakan sebagai solusi tempat berlibur kita kok… pengen sih coba sewa pondokannya sepertinya seru tuh… buktinya aq sampe sana pengennya duduk terus… sambil menikmati sejuknya udah di campur suara jeram dari curugnya Mantaff!!… tapi apa daya waktu juga yang mengharuskan kita turun kebawah… yah semoga agenda kopdar bareng barudak BLOGOR ke curug cilember beneran jadi euy… acik… acik…

- Kalo ada yang berencana mau pergi ke Curug Cilember setelah baca postingan saya… coba gunakan jalan masuk dari jalur Cilember karena pada saat ini kalo kita lewat jalur Hankam tidak bisa di lalui karena jembatan jogjogannya sedang dilakukan pelebaran, jadi belum bisa di lalui.

“BTM”

Rencananya saya mau ikut bareng di angkot barunya bu Desi n janjian di BTM bersama penumpang lainnya, rencana awal sih janjian jam 2:30 waktu bogor tapi apa daya setelah makan siang saya minum obat flu, rupanya tuh obat ada rasa tidurnya, hingga pada akhirnya saya sempet ketiduran… untungnya ponakan saya yang cantik gangguin tidur saya akhirnya kebangun… liat jam wow rupanya saya dah hampir telat euy, yak sudah ambil langkah seribu cuci muka sebentar then pamitan deh ama orang rumah… gak lupa sms bu Desi “bu saya di tungguin yak, agak telat nih…”

Sampe di BTM saya telp bu Desi lagi “bu saya dah sampe nih” *yak udah tunggu sebentar saya otw, coba gabung ama falla di pos polisi* yowes saya kedepan deh untuk nyamperi falla di pos polisi… rupanya falla terkaget2 disamperin oleh saya… selidik punya si sidik rupanya di pikiran falla bahwa yang namanya anKa itu cewe hayooo sapa yang sebarin gosip seperti ini yak …… setelah nunggu beberapa lama n sampe falla pun sempat merubah beberapa posisinya akhirnya angkot yang ditunggu datang juga….

“TKP Mie Janda”

Sesampe di TKP kami diwajibkan untuk mencoba menu baru dari “Mie Janda” yaitu Mie Janda Kuah Telur jreeeeng… akhirnya masuk juga ke sesi makannya… setelah aduk sana aduk sini… masuk juga jepitan pertama saya terhadap si janda mie wah mienya itu loh yang lembut mantaff, nah baru saya campur kuah telurnya kedalam mangkuk mienya, alhasil untuk ukuran saya jadi kurang asin euy…. setelah lirik kiri kanan saya mencari garem gak ketemu juga, kebetulan didepan mata ada tongcay eh bener gak sih namanya tuh… pokoknya yang asin2 gituh deh… akhirnya sesi makan mie saya berlanjut…

“Goretan”

Untuk mienya saya suka kang… lembut euy… tapi kalo nurut saya disamping lembut saya suka mie yang rada kenyal gituh kang…bisa gak yak dah lembut ditambah kenyal pula asik tuh 8->

Untuk bagian daging ayamnya apa memang gigi saya dah tua atau emank sengaja daging ayamnya gak terlalu lunak gituh….

Untuk kuah telurnya… mungkin kalo ditambahin kaldu ayam lebih maknyus…

Ditunggu cabang “Mie Janda” untuk wilayah bogor kotanya euy… sama menu baru Mie Janda Bekasi (beken, kaya, n seksi)

Ok saya mulai deh… berbekal sebuah plugins yang saya dapat ketika mencoba memindahkan isi folder wp-content milik Tea ke rumah barunya, tapi entah kenapa plugins itu tidak mau jalan… yak udah saya coba cari plugins lain yang sejenis sampai lah saya ke plugin smillies buatan Crazy Long kelebihan yang saya liat sih smileynya bisa dipake pas kita posting dan sudah pasti di pasang di tembok commentnya, duh kok sepertinya masih intermezzo ajah yak… hehehe maafkan saya yak… yang sabar disayang anKa loch )

Yuk ach mulai langsung ke intinya, kalo ada yang salah tolong di koreksi yak….

1. Download dulu source pluginsnya bisa ambil di folder saya custom-smilies12 atau ditempat Crazy Long bis itu jangan lupa di extract dulu (nanti ada 2 file init.php sama custom-smilies.php) baru diupload deh ke hosting mu, upload ke folder /wp-content/plugins/custom-smilies/ (cara upload ke hosting ama wp.com saya anggap udah pada ngerti yak, kalo belum PV saya ajah).
2. Login ke wp-admin lalu klik tab plugins (itu loh yang di disebalah kiri atas yang di apit sama tab settings dan users), lalu aktifin deh pluginsnya (aktifin plugin dah ngerti kan).
3. Nah sekarang diupload deh smiley pilihan kamu… och iyah WP sendiri sebenernya ngasih smiley juga loh, cuman yak standart lah mendingan delete ajah, nah nanti smileynya diupload ke folder /wp-includes/images/smilies/ (jangan pake folder lagih didalamnya yak, satuain ajah semuanya).
4. Bentar euy… nampaknya di milist blogor ada yang baru mau reply dulu yak…..
5. Nah masuk kebagian paling pentingnya nih… di folder /wp-content/plugins/custom-smilies/ sekarang kita edit file init.php dibagian ‘:)’ => ’1.gif’, sip kita masuk keteranganya deh untuk bagian warna merah ‘:)’ (ini bagian shortcut untuk smileynya) sedangkan untuk warna biru ’1.gif’, (ini bagian nama file smileynya) untuk contoh lain bisa seperti ini formatnya : ‘:giggling:’ => ‘giggling.gif’, (jangan lupa tanda koma , untuk memisahkan antara smileynya). Bila dah selesai disave lalu upload ke folder yang sama yak.
   
6. Nah sampai sini c dah selesai smileynya dan dah muncul di tab new posting, tapi kan pengennya muncul di tembok commentnya duh gimana yak *panik mode on* hehehe tenang lanjut deh ke setep berikutnya.
7. Buka deh theme editornya, lalu pilih theme yang sedang digunakan, lalu edit file comment.phpnya lalu masukan code dibawah ini dibawah form, kalo saya taro dibawah field website.
